Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color selection system for a cathode ray tube which can reduce weight while restraining increase of material cost, and to provide a color cathode ray tube with this color selection structure. SOLUTION: For the color selection system for the cathode ray tube, a thin electrode plate for color selection 10 is stretched on a frame 6 composed of a pair of supporting members 2, 3, and a pair of elasticity applying members 4, 5, and elasticity applying members 4, 5 are formed in a shape with hollow cross section with slit 7 by bending a sheet of plate material, and the slit 7 is arranged so as to face toward the thin electrode plate for color selection 10 or toward inside of the frame 6. The color cathode ray tube is equipped with this color selection structure 1.
