METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETECTING TRACK JUMP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for detecting an unintentional track jump which occurs during reading out of and/or writing to an optical disk. SOLUTION: The method for detecting an unintentional track jump during the recording out or writing of the optical disk including steps 406 and 408 of detecting the characteristics of the track structure of the optical disk which is formed by the tracks having the structure capable of reading out or writing the data during use and reads out or writes the data during the data reading out or writing of the optical disk, a step 414 of comparing the characteristics of the detected track structure with the characteristics of the anticipated track structure and a step of alarming the occurrence of the latent track jump when the results of the comparison between the characters of the detected track structure and the characteristics of the anticipated track structure do not coincide is provided.
