Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing N-carboxy-t-leucine anhydride without using highly toxic raw material such as phosgene in the operation of industrial process. SOLUTION: The N-carboxy-t-leucine anhydride is produced by cyclizing N-carboxy-t-leucine using acetyl chloride as an acyl halide. The compound can be converted to a t-leucine-N-substituted amide by the aid of corresponding amine. Preferably, methylamine is used as the amine and the reaction is carried out in a solvent composed of a mixture of water and methanol.
