MODULAR CURRENT SENSOR AND POWER SUPPLY UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a modular current sensor/power supply unit for reproducing the functions of a current transformer. SOLUTION: The modular current sensor/power supply unit (10) is disposed on a conductor (11) in an electric circuit and includes the current transformer (12), a feed circuit (14), a current sensor (16), and a current source circuit (18). The current transformer supplies operating power to the feed circuit. The feed circuit adjusts the operating power and supplies the adjusted operating power to the current sensor and the current source circuit. The current sensor detects current in a phase (11), and supplies a signal, indicating the current in the phase (11) to the current source circuit. The current source circuit receives the signal from the current sensor and outputs an output current proportional to the signal to a load circuit via lines (34, 36). The current, outputted by the current source circuit, has both the capability of supplying power to the load circuit and the attribute of a low power sensor.
