Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device constructed of a back panel composed of a metal substrate having a dielectric layer formed on its whole surface and bonded to it, and a front panel with a fixed gap from the back panel, by which a sealing material for fixing the back panel to the front panel can be prevented from breaking during operation of the plasma display device. SOLUTION: A conductive electrode is formed on a dielectric layer on or in the back panel. A material of the back panel has a thermal expansion coefficient matching the thermal expansion coefficient of the front panel. Before the assembly bonded is simultaneously calcined, are formed on the back panel by embossing a green tape. The green tape is embossed using an embossing tool formed by assembling an embossing member and a spacer member during pulsating pressure. The embossing tool includes an elastic spacer mounted outside the embossing tool, and the elastic member is provided at a position, compressed during the embossing, where the green tape embossed can be easily taken out of the embossing tool after the embossing.
