NEW alpha,beta-UNSATURATED DICARBOXYLIC ACID ESTER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new α,β-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid ester containing an oxycarbonylmethyl ester group as an active ester group and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This new α,β-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid ester contains an oxycarbonylmethyl ester group as an active ester group. This method for producing the α,β-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid ester comprises reacting one kind of an α,β-unsaturated carboxylate selected from the group consisting of a fumarate, a fumaric acid half ester salt, a maleate and a maleic acid half ester salt with an α-halocarboxylic acid ester.
