Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for checking printed matter and equipment which enables simple determination of color fading of the printed matter and simple checking of a state of printing equipment and the like. SOLUTION: A discriminating part 3 is provided in a part of the printed matter. In the discriminating part 3, a letter, a mark or the like is formed of a screen tint 23 of a gray of three colors of cyan, magenta and yellow in the background of a screen tint 21 of a gray all of black. A printing machine is regulated so that colors may have equivalent densities and that the discriminating part 3 cannot be made out immediately after printing. Due to the difference in a change with time of the densities of colors, a color balance is broken with the passage of time and the letter, the mark or the like emerges in the discriminating part 3. This is used for determination of color fading of the printed matter.
