PORTABLE TELEPHONE AND AUTOMATIC CHARGE COLLECTION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic charge collection system, employing a por table telephone that can more readily and automatically receive charging infor mation of a toll road, without the need for using a special on-vehicle unit fixed in a vehicle. SOLUTION: The portable telephone 100 has a receiving function of charging information of a toll road. A transmission section 10 and a reception section 11 are formed in an enclosure 3 of this telephone. The transmission section is provided with a first communication means, that is electrically connected to an external antenna 5, makes communication with an on-road unit installed to exit and entrance gates of the toll road and receives charging information from the on-road unit, with a storage medium 22 that stores the charging information from the communication means, and with a 2nd communication means that makes communication of the charging information with a registered account number of the portable telephone registered in the host computer of a telephone company.
