Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device and a printing method capable of executing a printing operation without wasteful consumption of sheets in the case where papers of the size designated by a host computer cannot be supplied. SOLUTION: In the case sheets of the size designated by a host computer cannot be supplied from a sheet supplying means (S205, NO), sheets of the size smallest in the group of the sheet sizes larger than the designated sheet size, are selected (S207, S208). In the case where the selected sheets can be supplied from the sheet supplying and selecting means (S205, YES), the selected sheets are supplied for printing the printing information from the computer.
