Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for efficiently manufacturing a carbon black having a small particle size and a uniform size distribution of the aggregates, wherein damage on a refractory constituting a reaction furnace wall at the combustion zone is suppossed, a fuel is completely combusted at an extremely high temperature and at an air/fuel ratio of about 1, and emission of NOx is restricted. SOLUTION: This carbon black manufacturing apparatus comprises a first reaction zone (1) in which an oxygen-containing gas and a fuel are supplied into the reaction furnace and they are burned to form a fuel gas flow, a second reaction zone (2) in which a hydrocarbon feedstock is reacted to form a carbon black, the second reaction zone being located in the downstream side of the first reaction zone and having a hydrocarbon feedstock supply port for supplying the feedstock into the flue gas flow, and a third reaction zone (3) for terminating the reaction that is located in the downstream side of the second reaction zone. In the first reaction zone (1), a fuel supply port (5) and an oxygen-containing gas supply port (6) are located independently on the same side of the reaction furnace with some distance apart from each other.
