Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor such as an escalator for reducing a work load to the building side at installing time by reducing a dimension of a truss. SOLUTION: Traveling sprockets 35 are arranged on both sides of a step row 11, these sprockets 35 are installed on support shafts 20a and 20b distributively arranged in both side parts of the truss 2 on the same axis running in the width direction of the truss 2, a speed reducer 41 for outputting motive power of a motor 40 by reducing a speed is arranged in one end part of the truss 2, this speed reducer 41 has a first output shaft 41a and a second output shaft 41b extending in the width direction of the truss 2, motive power of the first output shaft 41a is transmitted via a chain 43 to the traveling sprocket 35 on one side of the step row 11, and motive power of the second output shaft 41b is transmitted via the chain 43 to the traveling sprocket 35 on the other side of the step row 11.
