SOLUTION: For the lead storage battery, the part between a cathode plate and an anode, and their periphery are filled up with a mixture 3 of silica, acid- proof thermosetting resin binder, and electrolyte. As the manufacturing method of the lead storage battery, housing a group of pole plates 2 composed of at least a pair of the cathode plate and an anode plate in a battery container 1, the mixture 3 of silica, acid-proof thermosetting resin binder, and electrolyte are poured from an inlet for above liquid after covering the battery container by a lid with the liquid inlet, and the mixture is hardened by charging.
