Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode wire for wire cutting electric discharge machining especially capable of high speed electric discharge machining so as to restrain machining cost low, facilitating manufacturing, superior to the conventional ones in roughness and dimensional precision of a machined machined surface finished by electric discharge machining, inexpensive and well-balanced. SOLUTION: The electrode wire for electric discharge machining applied with a copper alloy in its center, covered with high zinc brass of 40%-50% zinc concentration in its periphery and applied with plating on its extreme outer layer further is roughed first with irregularities of 0.2 μm-20 μm, secondary with irregularities of 0.2 μm-10 μm and thirdly with irregularities of 0.2 μm-5 μm with an interface of the high zinc brass and the extreme outer layer plating as a dimensional difference and is increased in its surface area, and accordingly, it is possible to carry out high speed electric discharge machining.
