Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a exhaust gas cooling method in which the evaporation of water droplets is rapidly and completely achieved, even for a short exhaust gas residence time and stable exhaust gas cooling can be performed, and to provide a exhaust gas cooling device for the method. SOLUTION: In this method for cooling a exhaust gas with water spray by using a dry process, hot water of >=100 deg.C temperature and >=1 kgf/cm2 pressure is sprayed on the exhaust gas to cool the exhaust gas to a prescribed temperature or below.
