Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door drive device capable of being reduced in size, being installed easily, retrofitting to an existing manual sliding door, and reducing the manual resistance of the sliding door, and the motor assembly thereof. SOLUTION: This sliding door drive device 1 comprises a motor assembly 7 formed by mounting a geared motor 3, a clutch part 4, and a speed reduction gear mechanism 6 on a base plate 2 and a hanger bracket 15 having a sash roller 12 with a gear part 8 and a roller part 11 pivotally installed thereon. Thus, the device can eliminate a belt for driving the hanger bracket conventionally used, can reduce the size and volume thereof, and can be retrofitted to an existing manual sliding door.
