PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus that a user can sufficiently enjoy display contents on a display screen at dialing and at the arrival of an incoming call. SOLUTION: The mobile phone 1 having a display section 4 is provided with an EEPROM 14 that respectively stores character data used to display characters in a plurality of kinds of modes respectively corresponding to contents of a bit stream in a prescribed bit number and with a CPU 11 that recognizes data in a plurality of bits to specify a destination at dialing and/or at the arrival of an incoming call, demarcating the data by a prescribed bit number, sequentially read the character data in response to the contents of the bit stream of each section from the EEPROM 14 and sequentially displays the character image corresponding to the character data onto a display screen of the display section 4.
