Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power plant capable of supplying optimum power in accordance with a load condition. SOLUTION: A motor generator 12 is provided in an output shaft of an engine 11, a clutch 13 is connected. An electric motor 14 is connected in series to the engine 11 through the clutch 13, an oil hydraulic motor 15 is connected as a load to the electric motor 14. The motor generator 12 has an electric motor function and a generator function, a battery 16 is connected through an inverter 17 to the motor generator 12 also through an inverter 18 to the electric motor 14. Drive power is supplied from the battery 16 to the motor generator 12 and the electric motor 14 through the inverters 17, 18, and the battery 16 is charged through the inverter 17 with power generated in the motor generator 12. Only engine power, only electric motor power, compound power of the engine 11 and the electric motor 14, and compound power combining these powers with the motor generator 12, are selected.
