Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new modified phoshorous acid intermediate used for various types of method for synthesizing an oligonucleotide and having an activable group convertible into a free aldehyde group or sulfhydryl group when the intermediate is once added to the 5'-terminal of the oligonucleotide. SOLUTION: This compound is represented by the general formula 1 (X2 is RO or the like, X1 is NR1R2 or the like; R1 and R2 are each a 1-2C alkyl group or the like or, together with N, may assume a ring type structure; G is a 2-20C hydrocarbylene group; and Z is a hydroxy-protected vicinal diol group bound to G with one of vicinal diol group carbon atoms).
