Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crime prevention camera device for an elevator capable of surely inhibiting the crime act such as mischief and theft to a crime prevention camera in a car. SOLUTION: This crime prevention camera device comprises a camera 7 for picking up an image in a car, a cover 8 for covering the camera 7, a switch 9 for detecting that the cover 8 is touched by a substance, a control means 10 for executing the control on the basis of the output of a detecting signal, and a timer 11 for stopping the control operation of the control means 10 after a predetermined time from the output of the detecting signal. As an illuminating lamp 6 in the car is put out and a car door 3 is opened by the control of the control means 10 when a criminal tries to open the cover 8 in the car, the act by the criminal can be stopped.
