Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for a cleaning exhaust gas, capable of efficiently cleaning NOx even if the exhaust gas is in a low temperature lean region and an exhaust gas cleaning system simple in constitution. SOLUTION: The catalyst for a cleaning exhaust gas is constiuted by lamainating a first catalyst bed, which contains an aldehyde forming catalyst for forming acetaldehydes from exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine or combustion apparatus, and a second catalyst bed, which contains an NOx reducing catalyst for reducing nitrogen oxide in the exhaust gas and the aldehyde oxidizing catalyst for oxidizing aldehydes, on a monolithic structure carrier.
