PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To load block ice in the ice basket of an ice condenser already installed in a containment. SOLUTION: The modification device for cutting the inner projected object of an ice basket formed in a vertically cylindrical body is constituted of a lifter 120, a cutter main body suspended from the lifter 120, and a driving control device 90 installed on the lifter 120 side and atmospherically communicating with the cutter main body. The cutter main body is formed of an upper fixed part and a lower swing part, and can be inserted into the ice basket. The swing part comprises a plasma torch.
