Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an releasable sealing device for enclosing the gap between the throat hoods of a molten reduction furnace or a converter in which durability of a packing is enhanced and gas leakage is prevented. SOLUTION: The sealing device comprises an inner seal connected with a hood side seal metal to surround a hood, and an outer seal for sealing the gap between the throat hoods on the outside thereof wherein each seal is provided with an elevating/lowering mechanism. The inner seal is provided with a mechanism for hooking a throat side seal metal on the hood side, and a heatproof plate covering a hood side seal packing upon opening. A seal metal protective skirt and its elevating/lowering mechanism are provided between the inner seal and the hood and an outer seal packing and its inclining/fastening mechanism are provided at a lower part of the outer seal. A gas introduction opening for introducing inert gas between the inner and outer seals is preferably provided. Furthermore, a dust seal is preferably projected from the hood side seal metal. Safety operation is ensured even if the inner pressure of a furnace is increased. |
