PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of prior art that the temperature in a specific low temperature component provided in a refrigerating compartment rises as the temperature in the refrigerating compartment rises because the compressor of refrigeration system is controlled based on the temperature in a freezing compartment to bring about an environment unpreferable from the view point of freshness control of foods, and to provide a refrigerator effective for suppressing temperature rise in the specific low temperature component. SOLUTION: In a refrigerator provided, as one concrete means for solving the problem, with a specific low temperature component by sectioning the refrigerating compartment and cooling the refrigerating compartment and the specific low temperature component by circulating chill from a cooler by means of a fan, a technical means for providing a cold storage material is employed in the specific low temperature component.
