SOLUTION: This branch start port forming segment 3 is used to form a start port 1 for a branch tunnel within a main line tunnel excavated by the shield machine 17. A lid 4 for covering the start port 1 is preliminarily divided into a plurality of start port blocks 5, and the branched start port block 5 is combined with a wall block 6 for forming the wall 2 of the main line tunnel so as to have the same width dimension as another segment 7.
