Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the life of a sealed lead storage battery using an expanded grid as a positive electrode. SOLUTION: A positive plate 5 using an expanded grid 1 is covered with two sheets of nonwoven fabric 2 which is obtained by mixed making containing 20-50 wt.% of glass fiber and 50-80 wt.% of polypropylene resin fiber, following which process the periphery of the fabric is thermocompression bonded forming a stuck portion 4. In this bonding, the direction of expanding the grid 1, which is a current collector of the positive plate 5, is set towards the same direction of the fiber of the fabric, and it is then aged and dried.
