Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drain treating method and device therefor capable of performing efficient nitrogen treatment. SOLUTION: In the drain treating device and method therefor in which organic nitrogen is treated by alternately repeating an aerobic stage in which aeration is performed in an activated sludge tank 1 from a blower 5, a valve 6 through an underwater aeration agitator 2 in agitation and an oxygen-free stage in which the aeration is stopped and the agitation is performed in an oxygen-free state by the underwater aeration agitator 2, a control device 7 controls aeration air flow based on the result of measurement of a dissolved oxygen meter during the aerobic stage and also the switching from the aerobic stage to the oxygen-free stage is performed by detecting the decrease of the aeration air amount.
