SOLUTION: A core part 14 of a lighting optical fiber 7 has a taper portion 9 about the objective-side tip. Illuminating light is thus increased in the illuminating angle by the taper portion 9, so that the endoscope having a wide-angle lighting means can be realized with no use of lenses for an increased illuminating angle.
