SOLUTION: The stepping motor driver comprises a clock stop detecting means, a motor current detecting means, and a power supply means to the motor. In the case that a stop of a clock is detected by the clock stop detecting means and a current of a certain predetermined value or more is detected by the motor current detecting means, the case that the stop of the clock is not detected by the stop detecting means and a current of a certain predetermined value or more is detected by the current detecting means, or the case of at least any one of the cases, the supply of the power to the motor by the power supply means is stopped.
