MAGNETO-OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magneto-optical recording medium capable of surely reproducing a long mark by enlarging a magnetic leakage field from the central part of the continuously recorded mark. SOLUTION: This magneto-optical recording medium has a magnetic layer which consists of a soft magnetic material showing intra-surface magnetization when information is reproduced and is disposed between a recording layer and a substrate to be brought into contact with the recording layer. The current of a magnetic flux in the magnetic domain formed in the recording layer is controlled by the magnetic layer so that the magnetic flux from the magnetic domain in the recording layer is in a closed state during passing through the magnetic layer. Thereby the magnetic leakage field of sufficient magnetic intensity is generated from the central part of the continuously recorded mark. The information in the central part of the continuously recorded mark can be surely transferred to a reproducing layer so that the information can be surely reproduced. The magnetic layer can be disposed on the recording layer.
