Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-wave search apparatus by which a target position can be located at lower costs and with high accuracy. SOLUTION: The light-wave search apparatus in accordance with this invention has a structure wherein a first turning part 2 capable of being turned around an axis A is attached to a support part 1 and a second rotation part 3 capable of being turned around an axis B is attached to the part 2. A light receiving part 4 which is used to take into light waves in installed at the peripheral wall of the part 3. A drive control part 5 which drives and controls the part 2 around the axis A and the part 3 around the axis B is installed. The part 5 turns the part 3 around the axis B when, e.g. the axis of sighting of the part 4 is turned to the vertical direction, it resets the angle of depression and the angle of elevation of the axis of sighting of the part 4, and it observes the movement of an azimuth angle due to the rotation of the part 3 in such a way that the part 2 is turned around the axis A.
