SLUDGE TREATING DEVICE AND SLUDGE TREATING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sludge treating device which enables efficient decomposition treatment of the hazardous materials in contaminated soil or sludge containing a large amount of moisture without requiring enormous treatment cost for large-scale combustion equipment, etc., and is utilized as backfill materials, etc., and also provide a sludge treating method. SOLUTION: There are provided the sludge treating device having a sludge feed vessel 1 which stores the sludge, a freeze-thawing device which has a freeze-thawing vessel 2 capable of executing freeze thawing of the sludge, and a gravity separation device 3 which is connected to the freeze-thawing vessel 2 and is capable of separating the chemicals extracting the hazardous materials in the sludge subjected to the freeze-thawing treatment and other components by a specific gravity difference, and the sludge treating method to be used for the same.
