Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication method for an electronic settlement system, in which it is not necessary for a user to manage a password or secret key. SOLUTION: Both of a server and a terminal store the same settlement history information and different numbers are given to at least three of settlement history information. The authentication method using settlement history information, has a stage for the server to transmit a confirm number to the terminal, for the terminal to transmit a plurality of settlement history information corresponding to the confirm number to this server and for the server to compare the settlement history information and to confirm authentication in the case of matching and a stage for both the server and the terminal to delete the confirm number from at least one of settlement history information later, to add that deleted number to at least one of settlement history information and to exchange the numbers of at least two of settlement history information.
