Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that keeping a coolant passage opened by a valve element is undesirable from a point of view of energy conservation because electric power consumption is required for continuous excitation of a magnet coil in a solenoid valve for controlling flow of coolant as fluid in a refrigeration system. SOLUTION: In this solenoid valve comprising an inlet and an outlet of the fluid, the valve element operated by carrying/cutting electric current opens and closes a fluid passage in a valve seat so as to control the flow of the fluid from the inlet to the outlet. A flat spring is applied to the valve element for switching a status between a first status for retaining an opening position of the valve element to the valve seat and a first status for retaining a closing position of the valve element to the valve seat so as to suitable the status for a short time exitation. As a technical means adopted for the exitation to the magnetic coil, the flat spring is suitable for switching from the first status to the second status and from the second status to the first status.
