Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of identification of defective battery for vehicles in which the battery is charged to the prescribed voltage increase target value established by a control device by the generator (2) during the engine running and discharged by electric load. SOLUTION: A difference of voltage, which is brought about at charging or discharging during a certain period, or a period, in which two voltage threshold values are reached, are evaluated as an index of operating condition of a battery or its accumulation capacity. This evaluation can be made most simply by measuring a voltage gradient of the prescribed curve which is calculated in advance based on experiences. The result of the evaluation is outputted to an appropriate display device, visually, or aurally.
