Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for chemically removing oxidized scale essentially consisting of metallic oxide formed and stuck on the surface of stainless steel caused by heat treatment such as hot rolling and annealing treatment in the air. SOLUTION: Oxidized scale on the surface of stainless steel is removed by immersing the stainless steel into an aqueous solution containing sodium thioglycolate and having pH 4.0 to 9.5.
