Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain impact energy absorbing force within a standard absorbency range without getting influence of thickness of a fitting even when the dimension between a pair of guiding surfaces is uneven. SOLUTION: This steering device and fitting thereof is provided with a fitting 5 fitting a cylindrical housing 2 surrounding a steering shaft 1 on a vehicle movably, a tilt adjusting mechanism 4 adjusting angles the housing 2 oscillates, and an impact energy absorbing mechanism 6 absorbing a secondary impact energy while oscillating the housing 2 over a range exceeding the adjusting range of the angle by the secondary impact energy. The impact energy absorbing mechanism 6 is provided with a pair of guiding surfaces 61 extending to the direction to which the housing 2 oscillates, and an impact energy absorbing pipe 62 getting into contact with the pair of guiding surfaces 61 and becoming deformed, which is caused by the housing 2 oscillating over the range.
