FLOATING TYPE HEAD SLIDER AND DISK DRIVING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To float a floating type head slider in a more stable state even when a reduction occurs in the linear velocity of the floating head slider floating and traveling on the signal recording surface of a disk recording medium. SOLUTION: This floating type head slider is provided with a head for recording and/or reproducing a signal in a disk recording medium, and adapted to float and travel on the disk recording medium by an air flow generated by the rotation of the disk recording medium. In the floating type head slider, grooves having different depths are formed in a surface opposite to the disk recording medium, thereby the stepped parts of at least 2 stages or more are formed, and of these grooves forming the stepped parts, the depth of the shallowest groove is set to be equal to 250 nm or lower.
