SOLUTION: This invention provides sulfated fucogalactan or its salts that are useful as a reagent for the glycotechnology or HGF-producing derivatives, the low molecular-weight compounds or their salts that are prepared by allowing the sulfated fucogalactan-degrading enzyme to act on the sulfated fucogalactan, a sulfated fucogalactan-degrading enzyme that is useful in the glycotechnology, a method of producing low molecular-weight compounds by allowing the degrading enzyme to act on the sulfated fucogalactan and a method of producing the sulfated fucogalactan-degrading enzyme.
