FLUORESCENT DISPLAY TUBE DRIVER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the load of a transmitting side for data transfer and to avoid outputting erroneous data in a fluorescent display tube driver. SOLUTION: A shift register 101 conducts serial/parallel conversion for serial data signals S102 that transfer display data. A data register 102 stores output data S103 of the register 101. A high breakdown strength output port 104 outputs driving data D0 to Dn of the fluorescent display tube in accordance with display data S104 stored in the data register 102. A data register control section 10 receives discrimination signals S208 which indicate whether same data are continuously received or not. When the signals S208 indicate that same data continue, data fetch by the data register 102 is inhibited by control signals S209.
