On the basis of the new target input position data, new profile data is produced for performing finishing. In this way, an error occurring due to influence of deformation of a workpiece because of grinding stress, deformation of a workpiece supporting system, or fluctuation in grinding efficiency of a grinding wheel is compensated, so that grinding is carried out with higher accuracy in comparison with conventional error compensation.
