Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a face of slope greening base material with its water retention ability and mineral supply ability improved by vegetative carbide. SOLUTION: Wood material, bamboo, chaff or the like is carbonized, subjected to a required granulation treatment and turned over to vegetative carbide, and a face of slope greening base material is adjusted to 2 to 30% by volume for the vegetative carbide plus 70 to 98% by volume for the natural and/or artificial soil. The water retention ability of the greening base material is adjusted by arbitrarily increasing or decreasing the ratio of the medium graded portion with a particle size of 5 to 10 mm to the open graded portion with a particle size of not less than 10 mm in response to the conditions of the face of slope to be greened, and the mineral supply ability of the greening base material is adjusted by varying the proportion of the fine graded portion not larger than 5 mm in particle size in the vegetable carbon.
