Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a polyester having good color tone, no degradation of its melting point and little in byproduct of diethylene glycol while keeping stability of operation. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a polyester comprises heating in advance a lower alkyl ester of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid at a temperature of not less than the melting point of the ester outside of a reaction system, heating in advance a glycol at 60-160 deg.C outside of the reaction system, and after feeding the lower alkyl ester of the aromatic dicarboxylic acid into a reaction can, the glycol is supplied to the reaction can, in an ester exchange reaction and a polycondensation reaction between the lower alkyl ester of the aromatic dicarboxylic acid and the glycol.
