Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance accuracy and efficiency in processing without requiring any special preprocess. SOLUTION: A device body 1 has a surface plate 3, a vertical shaft 4, and an arm 5 linked movably in a vertical direction to the vertical shaft 4. A spline shaft 6 is attached to the arm 5 movably in a vertical direction. It is structured so that a keeper 7 to hold a material to be worked can be attached to the lower part of the spline shaft 6. A reference position sensor 11 to detect a position on the upper surface of a reference base 13 as a reference position, and a work material size sensor 12 to detect a position on the upper surface of the keeper 7 as the position corresponding to the size of the work material are attached to the arm 5. The absolute size of the work material is recognized base on the detected information of the sensor 11, 12 during processing of the work material, and a processing operation is controlled so as to give a designated value to this size.
