Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method which imparts the checks associated with the distribution of postal items in a postal system. SOLUTION: This system includes the determination of the postal data necessary for certifying the postage of the postal items dispatched by the mail senders. The postal data is combined with other data associated with the added value services required for the postal items. The added value service data includes address assignment information for receiving and returning from and to the main senders. The digital postal marks including the postal data and the added value service data are formed. When the postal items are delivered, the digital postal marks are read and the added value service data is collected from the read digital postal marks. The check messages to the mail senders and/or another associated third persons are sent according to the information included in the added value service data.
