DRIVE ASSEMBLY FOR INFORMATION RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive assembly of an information recording medium which prevents the vibrations freshly generated by a dynamic vibration absorber absorbing vibrations from affecting an optical unit and which is strong to the impact from outside. SOLUTION: The drive assembly 10 for the information recording medium D has a motor 12 for rotating the information recording medium D, the optical unit 13 for recording and reproducing the information of the information recording medium D, a feed mechanism section for moving the optical unit 13 along the radial direction of the information recording medium D, a traversing mechanism l0a having a chassis 11 for holding the motor 12, the optical unit 13 and the feed mechanism section, the dynamic vibration absorber 16 which is disposed at the traversing mechanism via a first viscoelastic body and is used to absorb the vibration of the traversing mechanism 10a and a base chassis 10b which is mounted to the traversing mechanism 10a via a second viscoelastic body 15. The spring constant of the second viscoelastic body 15 is larger than the spring constant of the first viscoelastic body 16a.
