PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographic spectral sensitizing dye which ensures a slight residual color due to dye stain, has high sensitivity and hardly causes fog. SOLUTION: The photographic spectral sensitizing dye contains an acidic heterocycle substituted by a dicarboxyalkyl group.
