OPTICAL FIBER TYPE FLOW SPEED SENSOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber type flow speed sensor which is strong in electromagnetic environment, capable of automatic continuous measurement, and extremely easy in multi-point measurement. SOLUTION: The optical fiber type fluid speed sensor comprises an optical fiber 5 in which the transmitted light is changed by the distortion, a rotor 1 to be rotated by the flow of the fluid, and a distortion adding means 12 to add the distortion to the optical fiber 5 in an interlocking manner with the rotation of the rotor 1, generation of the distortion is detected from the transmitted light in the optical fiber 5, the number of rotation of the rotor 1 is obtained from the number of generation of the distortion, and the flow speed of the fluid is obtained from the number of rotation.
