Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved system and an improved method for communication which transfer automatic vending machine operating software and automatic vending machine data to an automatic vending machine and further transfer them therefrom. SOLUTION: The automatic vending machine operating software is stored in an operating software memory of the automatic vending machine. An automatic vending machine controller controls the automatic vending machine as the function of the automatic vending machine operating software stored in the operating software memory. A hand-held data transfer device has a storage device. The automatic vending machine operating software is transferred between the operating software memory and storage device through the input/ output port of the transfer device, the input/output port of the automatic vending machine, and the automatic vending machine controller. This system enables the transfer of the software between plural automatic vending machines and a base station using the transfer device.
