DISPLAY DEVICE AND DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device, capable of displaying display data by contracting a display width to 1/(n+1) without having to perform the expansion and contraction of a display at the boundary line of scanning blocks. SOLUTION: When display data are scrolled in a direction orthogonal to a scanning line, the display data are developed, by adding one row of a black row per (n+1) digits in the direction orthogonal to the scanning line and the data are displayed by reading out the developed display data, while skipping lines of the data by every (n) lines (n is equal to or larger than 1) and also skipping liens of the data by every (n+1) lines at the boundary line of the scanning blocks and at a next data readout time, the data are displayed after one line of the data is shifted, and by reading out the developed data by skipping lines of the data by each (n) lines and also skipping lines of the data by each (n+1) lines at the boundary line of the scanning blocks.
