Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device for an electric railcar capable of reducing communication trouble between the electric railcar side and the ground side without shortening a response distance. SOLUTION: In communicating between the electric railcar side and the ground side using an interrogator 20 mounted on an electric railcar 10 and a responder 50 installed on the ground side, query wave emitted from the interrogator 20 is partially reflected on a track 60 and the ground surface 91 to form a reflected wave 80 heading sideward of the electric railcar 10, while the reflected wave 80 is shielded by an electromagnetic shielding part 31a of an interrogator 21 mounted on an electric railcar 11 traveling on an adjacent track.
